In Wittenooms Fields

06 Aug

Well been a while since I have written (and posted) one of my weekly timesheet poems. Last week I wrote a quick little Haiku for the timesheets, however I am not really a fan of writing a haiku so didn’t bother posting it on here. Also this poem should break up the lyrics some … so enjoy.

As the sick roam the fields,
Few stand in no man’s land.
The Captain shouts, safety at hand;
The rest crowd, bated breaths as shields.

Week end is at hand today,
Time for reprieve from ailing eyes.
Hoping for Saturday to have clear skies,
So all can watch the western derby foray.

Cast aside the winter blues
From the week that has gone.
Time to have a drink to dwell upon:
First, undertake your timesheet dues.
